CONTROL SYSTEM FOR SPRING APPLIED BRAKES

For safety reasons, it’s imperative to ensure a gradual and progressive braking within the applications where spring applied brakes are used. The use of a specific device is strictly recommended in order to improve the braking torque control in a proportional way.

An example is a front fork-lift with a spring applied parking brake: operating an emergency brake without controlling the torque may cause the load to fall from the forks and a situation of danger consequently. In case of failure on a lift, spring applied brakes are automatically operated to prevent its sudden crash on the ground; avoiding sudden decelerations is also strictly necessary for preserving the health of people on board.

The Vimoter control system is providing all devices for ensuring the gradual brake release while operating the service or emergency braking automatically. It consists of a control unit and a range of valves and can be operated both by an electric pedal and a button.

The system can be designed according to the specific customer’s requirements by adjusting the range of valves to the system hydraulic specifications. This device is also allowing the customer to set up the suitable performance diagram for the brake release.
